WHAT YOUR BODY LANGUAGE SAYS ABOUT YOU DURING AN INTERVIEW

It’s not just the answers you prepare for the Interview that makes you Ace the interview, but very importantly your body language plays a prominent role. Often times we say to ourselves, “I prepared so hard for this interview, I knew all the right answers and technically sound, plus everything went fantastic, so whats went wrong; why did I not get the job?
Most times its the non-verbal communications that expose you, the clue that you give to your interviewer in the form of your body language. Here are tips on what not to do in your interview

DONT SLOUGH


Sloughing your body is a sign of nervousness or a sign that you don’t have a good body and sitting posture. Always endeavor you are offered a seat at the interview, then make sure you sit up straight and smartly.

APPROPRIATE EYE CONTACT

Most candidates don’t even look the interviewer in the eyes or they stop halfway and start looking around at the room. That doesn’t fetch you confidence as the interviewer might not be impressed. Make sure you maintain eye contact with the interviewer while answering your questions. This is often a sign of confidence and it illustrates to the interviewer that you are bold and you know exactly what you are saying.

HANDS UNDER THE TABLE


Stop hiding your hands under the table, it’s just very ridiculous. It Oozes out low confidence. You can rest your hand on ur lap or just relax your hands confidently. Most people even hide their hands between their thighs and slough their bodies forward.

DONT SIT LIKE A BOSS

Funny right? Most candidates come in for an interview and sit like they own the organization they cama to interview for. Always ensure you sit like a gentleman or ladylike. It shows that you are composed and confident.

SHOW YOUR PALM


Showing your palm is a good gesture, not showing it like in the form of responding to police arrest. Always ensure you gesticulate while answering questions.
Pls always remember to smile, a little smile won’t hurt anybody.
