Job Description
Our Client, a dynamic organization registered in Nigeria to provide transportation services through vehicle hire and leasing is looking to employ a Workshop Assistant who will assist in the provision of mechanical engineering expertise in the maintenance of the company’s fleet.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assist in the supervision & coordination of maintenance activities at company and 3rd party workshops.
- Assist the Workshop Supervisor to analyse current procedures and activities in order to identify & present opportunities for improving the maintenance, repairs or replacement of parts for company’s fleet.
- Assist in the requisition of materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment or replacement parts etc.
- Analyse current procedures and activities to identify & present opportunities for improving the maintenance, repairs, requisitioning of materials or replacement of parts for company’s fleet.
- Carrying out relevant documentation of parts, processes, items etc used in daily repairs of vehicles.
- Collate relevant Information that will assist Workshop team in execution of maintenance activities
- Assist in reviewing daily activity of workshop team.
- Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain metrics, report, process documentation, service logs.
- Input and retrieve information on Company’s ERP System or any other software.
- Ensure that technicians are aware of the right procedures for using products and equipments.
- Maintain good working relationship with 3rd party workshop, fleet managers, drivers etc.
- Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions and changes in plans to develop appropriate course of action.
- Inspect the quality of repairs before the release of vehicles as well as ensure that vehicles are test ran before delivery to drivers.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained in terms of maintaining the company’s fleet.
- Ensure all workshop personnel adhere to all health and safety procedures.
- Recommend purchase of new improved technology.
- Coordinating, managing and supervising drivers vehicles repairs through the fleet managers or supervisors.
- Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- HND/ BSC in Mechanical Engineering
- Trade Test I, II & III,
- Basic vehicle/ mechanical engineering knowledge
- Minimum of 2years experience in automobile workshop, Engineering/Maintenance department of a Fleet Management organisation or related field
